Hornby buildings

.
I think the excellent prebuilt range of buildings by Hornby are ideal fo gaming in the 70s and 80s. They have some interesting subjects, come ready painted and if carefully selected certainly have a period feel. The only problem is that they can be a bit fragile and pricey.

They also do a great range off street furniture.

  1. Hi Mike

Hornby make some great buildings for Winter '79. I've been trying to buy some this week on eBay without success - they've gone for silly prices! Going to be the cas eof playing the 'long game' I think.

Maff has a range of Hornby inner city pieces including the 'arches' unit - perfect lockups for revolutionary bomb factories and srms dumps!

  2. Hi Mark,
I usually try and pick them up in sales. Hornby has had a few on sale recently including a nice cinema. Worryingly though once they have been on sale they seem to go out of stock forever. A case of getting what you want when you see it.
Looking forward to seeing a game up the arches!

  3. Very nice buildings! I am going to have to start looking for some myself. I have the Metcalfe kits and enjoy them myself. I just popped up some pics on my blog (just check the blog list over to the right side on this blog.)

Also a quick question, what paint are you using for the olive drab uniforms?

    Ta,

  4. After a week, juggling different bids I finally managed to get some Hornby farm buildings late last night and at reasonable price.

Seeing the Metcalfe buildings on Sapper Joe's blog - I'm going for the farmhouse to complete the farm set.

    Cheers
